The Virtual Specialty Pharma Sales Rep role is a virtual selling expert that strategically drives the commercial objectives of our client’s rare disease approved products. This position will be responsible for 1 indication in the disease area of Acute Hepatic Porphyria (AHP). The initial target audience for this role will be ON/QC/AB/BC based specialists.

The Virtual Specialty Pharma Sales Rep is expected to develop specific strategic account plans in the context of the overall product strategy to optimize care for patients, in close alignment and collaboration with functions of Medical Affairs and Marketing, while ensuring full compliance with all relevant company, industry, legal, regulatory and ethical standards.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Presents a positive image of the company and develops awareness about RNAi platform to relevant customer groups
  • Develops, owns and drives territory business plan, including customer targeting, in line with country strategy in partnership with the Commercial Lead and Medical Affairs team.
  • Achieves pre-launch and post-launch KPIs, including patient and share targets

Qualifications

  • Greater than 8 years of sales experience in bio/pharmaceutical sales and pharma sales experience
  • Relevant experience in the rare, orphan or ultra-orphan markets required (Gastroenterology and Neurology an asset, along with Internal Medicine and Hematology)
  • Ability to gain consistent access and develop strong & professional relationships for product promotion with healthcare providers in Academic and community centres (virtually)

Accountabilities

  • Reimbursement strategy for new products/indications that meet HTA/payor needs, in collaboration with cross functional team
  • Value and access strategies, anticipating payer landscape changes, understanding payer perceptions, engaging in discussions of early engagement, evidence generation plans and fostering collaborative relationships, including value based partnerships.
  • Collaborate locally and regionally to ensure payer insights and evidentiary needs are captured, new product planning and lifecycle management plans and/or complemented through local real world data (evidence) generation.
  • Lead development of business planning, from an access perspective, to set ambitious target for products, focusing on corporate priorities and key capabilities. Demonstrate and optimize payer value, ensure product differentiation and opportunities for value-based partnerships.
  • Lead translation of clinical, economic, environmental and commercial information into key insights (identifies risks, barriers and opportunities in a given environment based on objective evidence), proactive solutions, and executable strategy that leads to positive and early recommendations for funding.
  • Lead the overall reimbursement strategy for in-line and upstream products to secure opportunities to engage payers (public, private, HTA) on RWE and early engagement of products
  • Develop and execute price and value strategies that relate to competitive products and new entrant’s market position and formulate a competitive response that ensure patients have access to products.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree (sciences, economics, political science or public administration). Post-graduate experience (training or degree) in a related field, preferred
  • Expert level experience (10+ years) in pharmaceutical reimbursement / market access strategy, including strong competency in health technology assessment and healthcare analytics
  • Proven track record for creating and demonstrating value at organization level in speciality therapeutic areas
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required

Requirements

Project Management Office

  • Develop a standardized Project Management Office
  • Create a robust process for project management at Aspen with relevant best practice tools – Project Log, Project Charter, Gantt Chart, RACI charts, risk identification and mitigation.
  • Lead and manage day-to-day operational aspects of multiple project‘s scope as agreed with leadership team.

  • Approving charges for new ERP system implementation for project tracking
  • Creating and approving purchase orders for vendor services provided on projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or Business
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus

Required Career Experience

  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience with knowledge of cross functional activities
  • Project management experience related to pharmaceutical supply, regulatory impact, product development and launch management
  • Technical expertise related to pharmaceutical integration, manufacturing related activities and third party logistics
  • Change management
