Reporting to the Senior Director, Hospital & Specialty Care, you will identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with medical thought leaders and healthcare professionals by engaging in ongoing and balanced scientific exchanges in the Hematology/Oncology disease area. You will use your strong presentation and education skills to provide scientific product-related data and disease awareness information in hospital, institutional, academic, medical congress and/or related settings. You will provide disease state awareness, product information and pharmacoeconomic analyses as presentations or other forms of scientific exchange to regional managed care organizations, payers, and other formulary decision makers in response to unsolicited requests. You will create, build, and maintain relationships with physicians and key thought leaders. You will take ownership of the pre-launch setting and market preparation activities prior to transitioning to commercial personnel at launch. Remain a key partner in maintain the KOL relationship.

You may support company sponsored trials & other research initiatives including clinical trial site recruitment. You will provide scientific support at Medical Congresses. You will support external healthcare professional Speaker Training and provide Advisory Board support. You will maintain comprehensive, up-to-date scientific expertise of disease state, clinical information, product data, and the competitor landscape within the Hematology/Oncology disease area. You prepare and present information for initial and ongoing training of sales personnel pertaining to background disease state awareness, product information and competitive landscape Lastly, you will partner with the global Medical Affairs function to ensure the Canadian business is aligned with global objectives.

For this role you will need

• An advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MSc or PhD), with a thorough grasp of the pharmaceutical industry. Masters or Bachelor level degree in health sciences (e.g., RN, RPh, PA, NP, etc.) would be considered.
• Previous field Medical Science Liaison experience or significant relevant experience in addition to industry experience, which can include a combination of key opinion leader and academic subject matter expertise, or related clinical experience. Previous pharma sales exp. with a strong scientific background and knowledge will also be considered.
• Experience in Hematology/Oncology disease or related therapeutic area with established track record of developing relationships with top tier medical experts is preferred.
• Possesses business and scientific acumen demonstrated by communication of complex scientific and clinical information to colleagues, academicians, and healthcare decision makers
• Understanding of the managed care arena and the application of pharmacoeconomic principles
• Proven track record of teamwork, leadership, collaboration, timely decision making and results orientation in meeting business objectives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications and database entry (Certify, CRM, etc.)

Responsibilities

This opportunity is with our HCP detailing division (physicians and pharmacists), which partners with top tier pharmaceutical, consumer, medical device and biotechnology companies to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies.

PEAK Pharma Solutions is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented professional for the role of Pharmaceutical Sales Representative to support a sales/marketing program on behalf of a well-established pharmaceutical organization in Canada, covering areas such as Brampton, Etobicoke, Mississauga, North York and Oakville. In this role, you’ll work to promote this organization’s prescription brands in the primary care environment. You’ll be an integral part of developing a local presence on behalf of our client. You will:

  • Using both Peak Pharma’s and our client’s high quality, consistent selling approach, meet your objectives by focusing on building strategic partnerships with physicians to achieve sales targets
  • Develop and execute your territory’s business plan
  • Adhere to assigned call targets as communicated by the Field Manager
  • Present the brands’ key features and benefits and creatively inform stakeholders about their value
  • Manage and track HCP engagements and samples to maximize activation of brand recommendations by the health care professional
  • Engage in meaningful dialogue that addresses the needs of the various stakeholders including the physician, pharmacist, and the patient
  • Complete both in-field and virtual detailing with targeted customers
  • Build trust and credibility to become a true collaborator in commercial success
  • Manage and maintain expense and promotional budgets for the territory within guidelines
  • Gather and report on field insights by accurately recording daily activities using a CRM system
  • Attend various conferences, teleconferences and meetings as required
  • Requirements

Along with a results-oriented mindset, self-assurance and an engaging manner, the ideal candidate has:

  • 3+ years recent successful pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably in the area of Diabetes
  • Documented proven and consistent track record of achieving sales results in recent years, demonstrated by national and/or regional rankings, awards and goal achievement
  • Recent experience in the geography (local market knowledge and existing relationships with target physicians) preferred. Territory covers Brampton, Etobicoke, Mississauga, North York and Oakville.
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid driver’s licence to drive to assigned HCP accounts unless otherwise specified
  • The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that results in innovative ideas that best serves the mandate of the program.
  • Ability to effectively conduct HCP engagements using multiple channels (video, email, telephone, in person, etc.)

  • Ability to travel and possess a valid driver’s licence to drive to assigned HCP accounts unless otherwise specified
  • The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that results in innovative ideas that best serves the mandate of the program.
  • Ability to effectively conduct HCP engagements using multiple channels (video, email, telephone, in person, etc.)
